Transmission Fluid Cooler - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS)/5.0L 32V Ti-VCT: Removal

- With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

NOTE: If equipped.
If equipped, remove the bolts, the retainer and the shield.
- Position the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube heat shield aside.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube secondary latch.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube from the transmission fluid cooler. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Position the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube heat shield aside.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube secondary latch.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube from the transmission fluid cooler. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Clamp the transmission fluid cooler coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the quick connect coupling and disconnect the coolant hose from the transmission fluid cooler.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler.
- Release the coolant hose clamp.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler bolts.
- Slide the transmission fluid cooler off the coolant hose and remove.
