Removal And Installation: Condenser: Removal

NOTE:
During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in the appropriate Climate Control System article.
- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: AIR CLEANER . Refer to: AIR CLEANER . Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Remove RH and LH radiator side air deflector pin-type retainers and the radiator side air deflectors.

NOTE: 5.0L transmission fluid auxiliary cooler shown, others similar.
If equipped. Remove the retainers and position the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler aside.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
- Remove the condenser inlet and outlet nuts and disconnect the fittings.
Torque: 1: 71 lb.in (8 Nm) 2: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
- Remove the condenser inlet and outlet nuts and disconnect the fittings.
- Remove the radiator retainers and tilt the cooling module backward.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- Remove the condenser retainers.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Release the tab and position the condenser upward.
- Remove the condenser.
