Cylinder Head to Coolant Outlet Connector Hose Assembly: Removal

Left-hand (LH) side 

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Remove the LH front wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  3. Remove the LH fender splash shields. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  4. Remove the heat sleeve from the coolant hose.

  5. Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  6. NOTE: Do not pry the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector behind the fastener bracket. If necessary use gripping pliers to pull the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector from the cylinder head.

    Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Remove the fastener then remove the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector hose assembly. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    Torque

    : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  7. Inspect the O-ring and replace if necessary.

    Right-hand (RH) side 

  8. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  9. Remove the RH front wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  10. Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  11. Remove the high-pressure fuel pump sound insulator.

  12. Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.

  13. Remove the heat sleeve from the coolant hose.

  14. Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  15. NOTE: Do not pry the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector behind the fastener bracket. If necessary use gripping pliers to pull the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector from the cylinder head.

    Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Remove the fastener then remove the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector hose assembly. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    Torque

    : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  16. Inspect the O-ring and replace if necessary.
