Coolant Outlet Connector: Removal

  1. Remove the direct injection fuel rail LH. Refer to: Direct Injection Fuel Rail LH .
  2. Remove the direct injection fuel rail RH. Refer to: Direct Injection Fuel Rail RH .
  3. Remove the coolant pump. Refer to: Coolant Pump .
  4. Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Remove the knock sensor harness retainer from the fastener stud. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  5. Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses. Remove the fasteners and the coolant outlet connector and inlet pipe assembly. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  6. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Separate the coolant inlet pipe from the coolant outlet connector. Inspect the grommet and replace if necessary.

  7. Inspect the coolant outlet connector O-ring and replace if necessary.
