Port Injection Fuel Rail RH: Removal

- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to: Intake Manifold .
- Disconnect the fuel rail harness main electrical connector.
- Remove the spring lock coupling retaining clips.
- Disconnect the spring lock couplings. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings

- If equipped, remove the engine rear undershield. Refer to: Engine Rear Undershield .
- Detach the wiring harness retainers.
- Remove the retainers, then remove the high-pressure fuel pump shield.

NOTE: When removing or installing the fuel injection pump noise insulator, spreading the openings will reduce the risk of damage.
Remove the fuel injection pump noise insulator.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers. Disconnect the fuel supply quick connect couplings. Refer to QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Remove the retainers, then remove and the fuel supply manifold.
- Detach the wire harness retainers.

NOTE: Pull out the fuel rails in the direction of the fuel injector axis or damage may occur to the fuel injectors.NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any dirt or foreign material from the cylinder head, block and general surrounding area of the fuel rail and the fuel injectors.NOTE: Should any of the fuel injectors remain in the cylinder head, then the injector electrical connectors will need to be disconnected as the fuel rail is being removed.
Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts, then remove the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

- Remove the fuel injector retaining clips.
- Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.
- Remove and discard all of the fuel injector O-ring seals.
