Port Injection Fuel Rail LH: Installation

  1. NOTE: Make sure that new fuel injector O-ring seals are installed.

    Install the all of the new fuel injector O-ring seals and the fuel injector retaining clips onto the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new fuel injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .

    1. Install the fuel injectors into the fuel rail.

  3. Install the fuel injectors into the fuel rail.

  4. NOTE: Ensure that the wiring harness is not damaged during the fuel rail installation.

    Install the fuel rail, push down on the fuel rail above the injectors, then install and tighten the fuel rail retaining bolts in the following 2 stages and in the sequence shown.

    Torque

    :Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) | Stage 2: Tighten an additional : 45 deg.

  5. Connect the spring lock coupling. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings .

  6. Install the spring lock coupling retaining clip.

  7. Attach the fuel rail harness retainer.

  8. Connect the fuel rail harness main electrical connector.

  9. Install the intake manifold. Refer to: Intake Manifold .
  10. Reconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  11. Pressurize the fuel system. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
