Engine Mount RH: Removal

4x2/4x4 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
  3. Remove the following items:

    1. RH (right hand) air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
    2. LH (left hand) air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH
    3. RH CAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC)
    4. CAC (charge air cooler) outlet pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Outlet Pipe .

  4. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the fasteners and the underbody shield.

  5. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the bolts and the skid plate.

    Remove the fasteners and the underbody shield.

  7. Remove the following items:

    1. Starter motor. Refer to: Starter Motor .
    2. Accessory drive belt. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt .

    1. Remove the pin-type retainer.
    2. Remove the bolt and ground wire.

  8. Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  9. Remove the bolts and position the A/C compressor aside.

  10. NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove the exhaust Y-pipe dual catalytic converter-to-exhaust intermediate pipe bolts and separate.

  11. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

    Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.

    4x4 

  12. Remove the front drive shaft. Refer to: Front Driveshaft .

  13. Remove and discard the stabilizer bar bracket nuts.

    • Allow the stabilizer bar to swing downward.

  14. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

    Remove and discard the LH engine mount through bolt.

  15. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nuts, stud bolts or damage to the engine mount can occur.

    Remove and discard the RH engine mount nuts.

    • Remove the studs.

    1. Position an adjustable stand under the rear of the engine. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands
    2. Raise the engine 50 mm (2 in).

  16. Remove and discard the engine mount bracket-to-engine bolts.

    1. Remove the engine mount and bracket as an assembly.
    2. Clean the engine mount bracket-to-cylinder block and engine mount-to-frame mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
