Cylinder Head LH: Installation

Install a new cylinder head gasket.

- Install the cylinder head.
- Install new cylinder head bolts.
  Torque: Stage 1: 177 lb.in (20 Nm) | Stage 2: Loosen: 2 turn(s) | Stage 3: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm) | Stage 4: 180°

Install a new fuel rail-to-fuel rail high-pressure fuel tube and finger tighten the flare nuts.
- Final tighten the flare nuts.
  Torque: Stage 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) | Stage 2: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) | Stage 3: 25°

1. Install the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector hose assembly and the bolt.
  Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
2. Connect the coolant hose and the clamp. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

Install the wiring harness grounds, the bolt and the stud bolt.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Install the following items:
1. Refer to: Turbocharger LH .
2. Refer to: Camshaft LH .
Install the fuel supply manifold, then install and tighten the retainers.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Connect the fuel supply spring lock coupling. Connect the fuel supply quick connect couplings. Attach the wire harness retainer. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings . Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING . .

Attach the spring lock coupling retaining clips.

NOTE: When removing or installing the fuel injection pump noise insulator, spreading the openings will reduce the risk of damage.

Install the fuel injection pump noise insulator.

Install the high-pressure fuel pump shield, then install and tighten the retainers.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Attach the wiring harness retainers.

Install the coolant tube, then connect the coolant hoses and the coolant hose clamps. Connect the quick release coupling. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING . . Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

Install the intake manifold. Refer to: Intake Manifold .
Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
Pressurize the fuel system. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
Use the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Misfire Monitor Profile Correction routine in the diagnostic scan tool.
