Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6R80, Vehicles With: Column Shift

Adjustment
- With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Position the selector lever in D.
- Clean the cable adjuster lock.

NOTE: To prevent selector lever cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable between the manual control lever and the selector lever cable bracket.
Rotate the cable adjuster lock upward and disconnect the selector lever cable from the manual control lever.
- Position the manual lever in D.
- Rotate the manual lever clockwise until it stops.
- Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise 3 detents.
- Connect the selector lever cable onto the manual control lever and lock the cable adjuster.
- Listen for the audible click, then push back on the cable adjuster lock to verify it is locked.
- Pull back on the selector lever cable to verify it is installed correctly to the manual lever.
- Verify the vehicle starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
