Component Description: Ballast

For LED headlamps, a ballast is mounted to each LED headlamp assembly. The ballasts control the voltage to the high beam, low beam, parking and turn Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) within the headlamp assembly and the low beam DRL function.

For High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps, a ballast is mounted to each High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamp assembly. The ballasts provide high voltage to the High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulbs when voltage from the BCM (low beam outputs) is detected.
