Valve Cover LH: Removal

Remove the following items:
1. Remove the LH fuel injectors. Refer to: Fuel Injectors .
2. Remove the LH fuel rail. Refer to: Fuel Rail .
3. Remove the LH glow plugs. Refer to: GLOW PLUGS .
Disconnect the wire retainers from the valve cover stud bolts.

Disconnect the wire retainers for the fuel injection harness.

Disconnect the wire retainer from the rear valve cover stud bolt.

NOTE: It will be necessary to position aside the oil level indicator in order to remove the valve cover.

NOTE: Mark the location of the fasteners prior to removing the valve cover.

Remove the retainers and the LH valve cover.

Remove and discard the valve cover gasket.

NOTE: Use the notch in the valve cover to aid in removing the fuel injector-to-valve cover seal.

Remove and discard the fuel injector-to-valve cover seals.
