Lower Oil Pan: Removal

- Drain the engine oil. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment
Torque: 19 lb.ft (26 Nm)
- Remove and discard the oil filter. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment
- Remove the bolts and the lower oil pan.

NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs, or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths.
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material. Refer to: RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation . Use the General Equipment: Plastic Scraper
