Active Grille Shutter Actuator - 3.0L Power Stroke Diesel: Removal

Upper active grille shutter actuator

Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
Release the clips, and remove the linkage.

Remove the actuator clip.

Push the tabs at the edge to remove the drive vanes.

NOTE: The upper active grille shutter actuator is not interchangeable with the lower active grill shutter actuator. Do not attempt to replace one actuator with the other.

Using a screwdriver, push down on the clip and remove the upper active grille shutter actuator.

Lower active grille shutter actuator
Remove the lower active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter .
Disconnect the electrical connector.
