Front Seat Power Lumbar Assembly: Removal

NOTE: Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.

Regular Cab 

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .

    Seats with heated/vented seats 

  2. Remove the front seat backrest blower motor. Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Blower Motor .

    SuperCab and SuperCrew seats without heated/vented seats 

  3. Move the front seat to the full upward position.

  4. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .

    Seats without heated/vented seat 

  5. Detach the electrical connector retainers and position the wiring harnesses aside.

  6. Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover aside.

  7. Detach the backrest cover lower J-clip.

  8. Detach the hook-and-loop retainer and position the backrest cover strap aside.

  9. NOTE: To install, gradually alternate the left and right seat backrest cover zippers to prevent damage to the seat backrest cover.

    1. Unzip the backrest cover zipper on each side.
    2. Position the backrest cover upward.
    3. Detach the J-clips from the lumbar wire.

    All Seats 

  10. Disconnect the electrical connector, release the J-hooks, and remove the power lumbar assembly.
