Front Seat Lumbar Assembly: Removal

NOTE:
Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
- Adjust the manual lumbar to the fully relaxed position.

- Remove the clip and the recline handle.
- Remove the clip and the lumbar handle.
- Remove the side shield screws.

NOTE: Side shield without manual lumbar shown, side shield with manual lumbar similar.
Remove the side shield.
- Firmly grasp the side shield, lift up and out, separating the side shield from the recliner bracket.
- From underneath, squeeze the retainers together and pull out on the side shield.
- Slide the side shield forward.
- Release the electrical connector retainer and position the side airbag wire harness aside.
- Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover aside.
- Detach the backrest cover lower J-clip.
- Detach the hook-and-loop retainer and position the backrest cover strap aside.

NOTE: To install, gradually alternate the left and right seat backrest cover zippers to prevent damage to the seat backrest cover.
- Unzip the backrest cover zipper on each side.
- Position the backrest cover upward.
- Detach the J-clips from the lumbar wire.

NOTE: For installation, note the routing of the manual lumbar cable through the backrest cover opening.
Position the lumbar assembly cable away from the seat track.
- Disconnect the cable from the lumbar actuator.
- Detach the cable retainers from the seat track.
- Remove the lumbar assembly.
- Release the lumbar assembly cable retainer.
- Detach the lumbar assembly cable.
- Detach the lumbar assembly J-hooks.
- Detach the lumbar assembly upper J-hooks.
- If required. Remove the screws and the lumbar actuator.
