Front Center Seat Backrest: Removal

  1. Remove the front center seat. Refer to: Front Center Seat .
  2. Disconnect the USB module electrical connectors.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    3. Detach the retainers and position the wiring harness aside.
    4. Detach the retainer and position the wiring harness aside.

  3. Remove the rear cup holder assembly.

    1. Release the retainers.
    2. Disconnect the PATS center antenna electrical connector.
    3. Disconnect the auxiliary power point electrical connector.

  4. Position the seat cushion up.

  5. Remove the cup holder.

  6. Remove screws and the seat storage tray.

  7. Position the seat cushion down.

  8. Release the seat latch and fold the seat backrest down.

  9. Remove the head restraint guide sleeves. Refer to: Front Head Restraint Guide Sleeve .
  10. If equipped. Position the armrest storage compartment lid up.

  11. Remove the backrest latch cover.

  12. Remove the screws, release the retaining clip and remove the RH side shields.

  13. Remove the screws, release the retaining clips and remove the LH side shield.

  14. Release the seat latch and raise the seat backrest up.

  15. Remove the safety belt anchor bolt.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  16. Remove the backrest.

    1. Remove the stop bolt.

      Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    2. Remove the pivot bolt.

      Torque: 33 lb.ft (45 Nm)

    3. Remove the backrest latch upper bolts.

      Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
