Brake Vacuum Pump - 3.0L Power Stroke Diesel: Removal

  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.

  2. Remove the nut, the bolt and the turbocharger heat shield.

  3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  4. Remove the right fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  5. Disconnect the vacuum control regulator electrical connector.

  6. Detach and position aside the vacuum tubes.

    • Release the couplings and disconnect the vacuum tubes.

    • Detach the vacuum control regulator and position aside with the vacuum tubes.

  7. Remove the nut.

  8. NOTE: The bolts can only be removed with the vacuum pump.

    Remove the bolts and the brake vacuum pump.

  9. Remove and discard the gasket.
