Differential Carrier - Vehicles With: Electronic Locking Differential (ELD): Assembly

- Using the general equipment, install the new differential bearings. Use Special Service Tool: 205-D044 (D81T-4221-A) Installer, Differential Carrier Bearing.
- Apply a one-eighth inch bead of maximum strength retaining compound on the rear face of the ring gear in the pattern shown below.
Material: Retaining Compound / Loctite® 638™ (WSK-M2G349-A8)

NOTE: Tighten the ring gear bolts in a cross pattern.
Install the ring gear and the new differential ring gear bolts. Tighten in 2 stages.
Torque: Stage 1: 44 lb.ft (60 Nm) Stage 2: 90 deg.

NOTE: Take extra care not to damage the wiring harness.NOTE: Install the differential with the tabs on the ELD coil up against the differential bearing cap mounting surface.
Install the differential carrier. Refer to: Differential Carrier .
