Pinpoint Test B : B11D9:16, B11D9:17, P0562:00, P0563:00

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Refer to TWO WHEEL DRIVE/FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEMS for schematic and connector information. Refer to CHARGING SYSTEM for schematic and connector information.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

If the TCCM observes an overpower or underpower voltage condition, a DTC is set and all TCCM outputs are turned off (IWE engaged).

If the ATCM observes an overpower or underpower voltage condition, a DTC is set and the ATCM backlight illumination is turned off.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
ATCM B11D9:16 Vehicle Battery: Circuit Voltage Below Threshold This DTC sets when the ATCM detects battery voltage less than 8 volts for 10 seconds or more at C2071-1.
ATCM B11D9:17 Vehicle Battery: Circuit Voltage Above Threshold This DTC sets when the ATCM detects battery voltage greater than 17 volts for 10 seconds or more at C2071-1.
TCCM P0562:00 System Voltage Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the TCCM detects battery voltage less than 9 volts for 5 seconds or more at the TCCM.
TCCM P0563:00 System Voltage High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the TCCM detects battery voltage greater than 16 volts for 5 seconds or more at the TCCM.

    Possible Sources

    • Vehicle level voltage concern
    • TCCM voltage supply
    • TCCM ground
    • TCCM
    • ATCM voltage supply
    • ATCM ground
    • ATCM

  2. NOTE: High and low voltage DTC can be set if the vehicle has been recently jump started, the battery has been recently charged or the battery has been discharged.
  3. B1 RETRIEVE ALL CM DTCS IN ALL MODULES

    • Ignition ON.

    • Connect the diagnostic tool.

    • Enter the following diagnostic mode: Retrieve all CM DTC.

Are voltage CM DTC set in other modules?

    Yes  REFER to: Charging System - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS) .
    No  GO to  B2
  4. B2 CHECK THE MODULE POWER FOR VOLTAGE

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect TCCM C2371B or ATCM C2071.

    • Ignition ON.

    • While manipulating the harness (wiggle test) measure:

Are the voltages greater than 10 volts and remain constant while wiggle testing the harness?

    Yes  GO to  B3
    No  REPAIR the circuit.
  5. B3 CHECK THE MODULE GROUND

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect TCCM C2371B or ATCM C2071.

Are the resistances less than 3 ohms and remain constant while wiggle testing the harness?

    Yes  GO to  B4
    No  REPAIR the circuit.
  6. B4 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect and inspect all TCCM or ATCM connectors.

    • Check for the following:

      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)

      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins

      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

    • Connect all TCCM and ATCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?

Yes  INSTALL a new module. REFER to: Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) . REFER to: Mode Select Switch (MSS) - Raptor .
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of the connector or pin issues.
