Differential Housing Cover: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Separate the ABS harness fasteners from the differential housing cover stud bolts.

    1. Remove the differential housing cover stud bolts.
    2. Remove the differential housing cover bolts.
    3. Remove the differential housing cover.

  4. NOTE: Remove all of the silicone gasket and make sure the surfaces are free of oil before applying the new silicone gasket.

    Clean the gasket mating surface of the axle and the differential housing cover.
