Pinpoint Test I : The Odometer Is Inoperative: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

See Odometer. Refer to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - System Operation and Component Description .

If the odometer count message is missing from the PCM for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the odometer display to all dashes (------).

If the odometer count message is deemed invalid by the IPC, the IPC defaults the odometer display to all dashes (------). If the NVM becomes corrupted or if any NVM failure occurs, odometer displays ERROR.
