The IPC uses the oil pressure warning indicator request and engine rpm data to control the low oil pressure warning indicator. Following the bulb prove-out, the low oil pressure warning indicator turns off with the engine off. When the engine rpm is above 400 rpm, the IPC turns on the low oil pressure warning indicator whenever a low oil pressure condition exists.
The engine oil pressure switch is hardwired to the PCM. The PCM provides the oil pressure warning indicator request and the engine rpm data to the GWM over the HS-CAN1. The GWM provides the oil pressure warning indicator request and engine rpm data to the IPC over the HS-CAN3.
