Catalytic Converter RH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector and detach the wire clips.

  3. Remove the LH catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter LH - Vehicles With: Dual Exhaust System .
  4. Remove the muffler inlet pipe. Refer to: Muffler Inlet Pipe .
  5. Remove the transmission fluid cooler. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Cooler - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS)/5.0L 32V Ti-VCT .
  6. Remove the transmission support insulator. Refer to: Transmission Support Insulator .
  7. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

  8. Remove the bolt and the heat shield.

  9. Remove the RH catalytic converter nuts and discard. Remove the RH catalytic converter.

    NOTE: The following 2 steps are only required if servicing the exhaust manifold adapter.
  10. NOTE: Install the new studs if necessary.

    Remove the studs and the exhaust manifold adaptor.

  11. Remove and discard the gasket.
