Muffler Inlet Pipe: Removal

Muffler inlet pipes will vary in configuration with different wheelbases and powertrains. Typical application shown.

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Loosen the clamp.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
- Loosen the muffler inlet pipe flange bolts.
Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- The locator tab needs to be released out of the muffler inlet pipe.
- Slide the muffler and tailpipe rearward out of the isolators and remove the muffler and tailpipe.
- Remove the bolts and muffler inlet pipe.
