Pickup Bed: Removal

NOTE:
Pickup bed bolts are a one-use bolt. They must be replaced when removed or loosened.
NOTE:
Diesel 8.0 foot pickup bed shown, all others similar.
NOTE:
Spare tire removed for clarity.
- Remove the tailgate.
- If equipped, remove the bed liner.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the rear bumper. Refer to: Rear Bumper .
- Open the fuel fill door, remove the rubber boot and fasteners and position the filler pipe(s) aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and retainers and position the wiring harness aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and retainers and position the wiring harness aside.

NOTE: Bed bolt removal requires the use of an external Torx Plus® 24EP or 24EPL socket.
Remove the following items:
- Remove and discard the pickup bed fasteners.
- Remove and discard the pickup bed fasteners.
- Carefully remove the pickup bed.
