Rear Door Alignment - Crew Cab

Inspection
NOTE:
LH shown, RH similar.
- Inspect the rear door-to-body dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .
Adjustment
All alignments
- Open the rear door.
- Remove the bolts and the striker assembly.
Rear door in and out, up and down alignment
- Loosen the bolts enough to permit movement of the door.
- Adjust the door to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame
.
- Tighten the bolts.
Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
Rear door fore, aft and tilt alignment
- Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
- Remove the B-pillar lower trim panel. Refer to: B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL - CREW CAB
LH front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner
- Disconnect the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner electrical connectors.
RH front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner
- Disconnect the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner electrical connectors and detach the wiring harness retainer.
- Remove the bolts and the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner.
Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- Remove the body opening foam cover to access the door hinge nuts.
- Open the front door.
- Open the rear door.
- Loosen the nuts enough to permit movement of the door.
- Loosen the bolt enough to permit movement of the door.
- Carefully close the rear door.
- Carefully close the front door.
- Adjust the door to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame
.
- Carefully open the front door.
- Carefully open the rear door.
- Tighten the nuts.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Tighten the bolt.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
All alignments
- Install the striker assembly.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Close the rear door.
- Close the front door.
- Inspect the body-to-rear door dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame
.
- Install the removed components.
- During installation, make sure the seat belt webbing is not twisted and the seat belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
- Check the seatbelt system for correct operation. Refer to: Seatbelt Systems .
- Repower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Repowering .
