Rear Door Alignment - Crew Cab

Inspection 

NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.
  1. Inspect the rear door-to-body dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .

Adjustment 

All alignments 

  1. Open the rear door.

  2. Remove the bolts and the striker assembly.

    Rear door in and out, up and down alignment 

  3. Loosen the bolts enough to permit movement of the door.

  4. Adjust the door to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

  5. Tighten the bolts.

    Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)

    Rear door fore, aft and tilt alignment 

  6. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
  7. Remove the B-pillar lower trim panel. Refer to: B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL - CREW CAB

    LH front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner 

  8. Disconnect the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner electrical connectors.

    RH front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner 

  9. Disconnect the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner electrical connectors and detach the wiring harness retainer.

  10. Remove the bolts and the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner.

    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  11. Remove the body opening foam cover to access the door hinge nuts.

  12. Open the front door.

  14. Loosen the nuts enough to permit movement of the door.

  16. Carefully close the rear door.

  18. Adjust the door to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

  21. Tighten the nuts.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  22. Tighten the bolt.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

    All alignments 

  23. Install the striker assembly.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  24. Close the rear door.

  26. Inspect the body-to-rear door dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .

  27. Install the removed components.

    • During installation, make sure the seat belt webbing is not twisted and the seat belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

  28. Check the seatbelt system for correct operation. Refer to: Seatbelt Systems .
  29. Repower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Repowering .
