Cooling Module: Removal

- Drain the primary cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Drain the secondary cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Evacuate the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
- Remove both headlamp assemblies. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .

- All Vehicles. Disconnect the horn electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.
- Vehicles Equipped With Hood Ajar Switch. Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Vehicles Not Equipped With Hood Ajar Switch. Detach the wiring harness retainer.
- Vehicles With Park Aid Camera. Detach the wiring harness retainers.
- Detach the pin-type retainer, release the clips and position the washer fluid hose aside.
- Remove the bolts, push-pins and the radiator grille bracket.
Torque:
Stage 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
Stage 2: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the bolts, detach the retainer and position the hood latch aside.

- Detach the cable from the mounting bracket.
- Disconnect the hood latch release cable end.
- Detach the pin type retainers from the front end bolster and position the air deflector and wiring harness aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.
Remove the condenser inlet jumper line fitting nut and disconnect the compressor to condenser discharge line from the jumper line.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.
Remove the condenser outlet nut fitting and disconnect condenser outlet line from the condenser.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

- Release the clamp and disconnect the primary radiator overflow hose from the primary radiator. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Detach the primary radiator overflow hose retainer and position the primary radiator overflow hose aside.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Release the clamp and disconnect the secondary degas bottle to secondary coolant pump hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Release the clamp and disconnect secondary degas bottle to the CAC hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Release the clamp and disconnect the secondary radiator to CAC hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Detach the CAC cooler hose retainer from the primary radiator.
- Remove the bolt and position the power steering fluid reservoir aside.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Pull the upper radiator hose spring clip until the end of the clip is in the detent on the quick connect coupling and disconnect the upper radiator hose.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers from the cooling fan shroud.

- Detach the power steering cooler hose retainers from the primary radiator.
- Remove the bolts and position the power steering cooler aside.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Disconnect the coolant pump hose quick disconnect fitting.
- Pull the lower radiator hose spring clip until the end of the clip is in the detent on the quick connect coupling and disconnect the lower radiator hose.

NOTE: This step is necessary to access the wiring harness in the following step. Use caution not to put excessive force on the wiring harness.
Remove the bolts and with the help of an assistant pull the cooling module forward.
Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
- Detach the wiring harness retainers from the lower cooling fan shroud.
- With the help of an assistant remove the cooling module.
