Crankshaft Rear Seal: Removal

NOTE: Do not use magnetic screwdrivers or other magnetic tools around the CKP sensor and the crankshaft sensor pulse ring or damage to the components may occur.
Remove the crankshaft sensor pulse ring.
- Remove the cylinder block opening cover.

- Loosen the CKP sensor bolt 3 full turns.
- Position the CKP sensor back against the bolt.
- Verify that the CKP sensor is not protruding into the rear crankshaft seal area.

NOTE: Do not scratch or damage the crankshaft during removal or installation of the rear crankshaft seal.
Using the special tool, remove and discard the crankshaft rear seal. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1513 Remover, Rear Crank Seal.
- Clean and inspect the crankshaft sealing surfaces.
