Valve Cover RH: Removal

- Remove the following items:
- Air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
- Air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors and detach the retainers.
- Disconnect the quick connect coupling and remove the PCV tube. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

- Remove the RH ignition coils. Refer to: Ignition Coil-On-Plug .

- Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers and position the wiring harness aside.
- Remove the bolt and position the transmission filler tube aside.

NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old sealant. Failure to follow this procedure may cause future oil leakage.NOTE: The fasteners are part of the valve cover and should not be removed.
Loosen the bolts in sequence shown and remove the RH valve cover.
- Remove and discard the RH valve cover gasket.

NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the aluminum retainer plate. These tools cause scratches and gouges, which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old sealant.
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material. Use the General Equipment: Plastic Scraper
