Intake Manifold Assembly: Assembly

NOTE: If the engine is repaired or replaced because of upper engine failure, typically including valve or piston damage, check the intake manifold for metal debris. If metal debris is found, install a new intake manifold. Failure to follow these instructions can result in engine damage.
  1. NOTE: Do not reuse the O-ring seals. Lubricate the new O-ring seals with clean engine oil prior to installation.

    Lubricate with clean engine oil and install the new O-ring seals on each of the fuel injectors.

  2. Install the fuel rail onto the fuel injectors. Engage the fuel injector-to-fuel rail clips to the fuel rails.

    • Install the fuel rail and fuel injector assembly onto the intake manifold.

    • Install the fuel rail bolts.

      Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  3. Install a new throttle body spacer gasket.

    1. Install the throttle body spacer and the upper throttle body spacer bolts and tighten in 2 stages.

      Torque: Stage 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) | Stage 2: 90 deg.

    2. Install the lower throttle body spacer bolts and tighten in 2 stages.

      Torque: Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) | Stage 2: 90 deg.

  4. Install a new throttle body gasket.

  5. Install the throttle body and the throttle body bolts and tighten in 2 stages.

    Torque: Stage 1: 80 lb.in (9 Nm) | Stage 2: 90 deg.
