Front Brake Flexible Hose: Removal

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
NOTE: If the fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles 

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Single Rear Wheels . Refer to: Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Dual Rear Wheels .
  2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the brake hose. Discard the washers.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

    Vehicles with mono-beam axle 

  3. Detach the wheel speed sensor harness retainers.

    1. Detach the vacuum hose retainer.
    2. Separate the vacuum hose.
    3. Remove the bolt and position the brake hose bracket aside.

      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

    Vehicles with twin I-Beam axle 

    1. Detach the wheel speed sensor harness retainers.
    2. Remove and discard the sway bar link upper nut and bolt.

      Torque: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

    All vehicles 

    1. Disconnect the brake tube fitting.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    2. Remove the bolt and the front brake flexible hose.

      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
