Crankshaft Rear Seal with Retainer Plate: Removal

NOTE:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.
- Remove the oil pan. Refer to: Oil Pan .
- Remove the flexplate or flywheel. Refer to: Flexplate . Refer to: Flywheel .

Remove the engine-to-transmission spacer plate.
- Remove the crankshaft ignition pulse ring.
- Disconnect the CKP sensor wiring harness electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor.
- Using the special tools, remove and discard the crankshaft rear seal. Use Special Service Tool: 303-519 (T95P-6701-EH) Remover, Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal., 100-001 (T50T-100-A) Slide Hammer.
- Remove the bolts and the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate.
- Clean and prepare the RTV sealing surface. Refer to: RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation
