C-Pillar Trim Panel: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: During installation, attach the scuffplate trim panels at the lower B-pillar trim panel first.

Release the clips and remove the rear door scuffplate trim panel.

Position the rear door weatherstrip aside.

Vehicles without Inflatable Seatbelts
Remove the bolt and the position the seatbelt aside.
Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Vehicles with Inflatable Seatbelts
NOTE: Follow the unique instruction or graphic for this step in installation.

Open the seatbelt tongue cover.
1. Push the seatbelt tongue lower cover to one side, lift and disengage that side of the cover.
2. Push the seatbelt tongue lower cover to one side, lift and disengage that side of the cover.
3. Push the seatbelt tongue lower cover forward to disengage and open the cover.

Disassemble the lap belt from the seatbelt tongue.
1. Push down on the lap belt spring clip.
2. Remove the pin.
3. Pull the lap belt through the seatbelt tongue cover.

Vehicles with rear under seat storage
Raise the rear seat cushion to the folded up position.

Remove the retainer from the outboard cushion side shield.

Lower the rear seat cushion to the folded down position.
1. Pull the release strap.
2. Lower the rear seat cushion to the folded down position.

Remove the rear seat side shield.
1. Remove the screw.
2. Release the retainers. Use the General Equipment: Pick Hook

Remove the retainer and the outboard cushion side shield.

NOTE: If the tether clip is damaged during removal, a new clip must be installed prior to installation of the trim panel.

NOTE: During installation, install the clip by the scuffplate trim panel first and work upward on the trim panel to connect the other clips.

Remove the C-pillar trim panel.
1. Release the clips.
2. Release the tether clip.
