Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Single Rear Wheels: Removal

  1. NOTE: Typical wheel cover shown, others may vary by application.

    If equipped. Remove the wheel cover.

  2. Check the torque for all of the wheel nuts. If any wheel nuts have a torque above 312 Nm (230 lb-ft), install all new wheel studs on that wheel hub. For additional information, Refer to the appropriate Suspension article for the procedure.
  3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  4. NOTE: Do not use heat to loosen a seized wheel nut or damage to the wheel and wheel bearing can occur.

    Remove the wheel nuts and the wheel and tire assembly.
