Selector Lever Cable - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6R100: Installation

- If necessary, open the adjuster lock.
- Install the selector lever cable and the clip.
- Install the selector lever retainer bolt.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Pull the selector lever cable and the rubber grommet through the floor pan and route the cable toward the steering column.
- Make sure the grommet is correctly seated in the floor pan.
- If equipped, position the instrument panel lower center finish panel and install the screw.
- If equipped, install the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console .
- Connect the selector lever cable retainer.

NOTE: Make sure the selector lever is in D.
Connect the selector lever cable to the steering column and the selector lever mechanism.
- Install the selector cable retainer bolt.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Install the steering column reinforcement panel and the bolts.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Position the steering column opening trim panel and install the screws.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Connect the electrical connector(s).
- If equipped, connect the electrical connector.

Install the steering column opening trim panel.
- Install the steering column shrouds. Refer to: Steering Column Shrouds .
- Verify the selector lever is in D.
- Position the manual lever in D.
- Rotate the manual lever clockwise until it stops.
- Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise 3 detents.
- Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.
- Close the adjuster lock.
- Verify the vehicle starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
