Climate Control Housing: Removal

NOTE:
During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.

- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging
- Clamp and disconnect the heater hoses.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
- Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold tube assembly bracket bolt.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly nut, position the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly aside and discard the gasket seals.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
- Remove the nut and washer.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Remove the instrument panel. Refer to: Instrument Panel .

- Disconnect the blower motor control module electrical connector, detach the wiring harness retainers.
- Detach the retainer, position aside the antenna cable wire harness.

NOTE: If equipped
Detach wiring harness retainers and disconnect the electric booster heater connector.
- Remove the nuts and washers.
Torque: 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) 2: 48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)

NOTE: For vehicles equipped with a rear footwell duct, the climate control housing must be carefully detached from the dash panel and then tilted toward the rear of the vehicle to detach it from the rear footwell duct connection.
Remove the climate control housing.
