Shift Solenoids (SS): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2019 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. NOTE: Solenoids are calibrated from the factory and are not all the same. To replace a solenoid, match the replacement solenoid type (normally high/normally low) and the band number with the original solenoid or harsh/erratic shifts, harsh/soft engagement or damage to the transmission can occur.

Identify what type (normally high/normally low) of solenoid is being replaced. Use the charts below to get the correct part number for the solenoid band number. Lubricate the solenoid O-rings with clean transmission fluid.
