Extension Housing Seal: Installation

- Lubricate the new rear bushing fluid feed seal with clean transmission fluid and install it in the transmission case.

Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® LV,)
- Install a new O-ring seal on the extension housing and lubricate it with clean transmission fluid.

- Install the extension housing and the bolts.
Torque:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- Install the transmission support insulator. Refer to: Transmission Support Insulator .
- Install the output shaft flange, washer and the bolt.
Torque:
129 lb.ft (175 Nm)

- Remove the support, align the driveshaft and output shaft flange index mark made during removal.
- Install new center bearing mounting bolts.
Torque:
98 lb.ft (133 Nm)
- Install new bearing straps and new bolts.
Torque:
Vehicles with stamped steel U-joint straps : 52 lb.ft (70 Nm) Vehicles with cast steel U-joint straps : 111 lb.ft (150 Nm)
- Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
