Condition	Possible Sources	Action
Overdrive clutch does not apply	SSE is mechanically stuck ON	INSTALL a new solenoid. REFER to: Shift Solenoids (SS) . CARRY OUT the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
	Pump feed seals damaged or leaking	REMOVE the main control valve body and INSPECT the pump feed seals for damage or leaks. INSTALL new seals. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body .
	Overdrive (4, 5, 6) clutch regulator valve is stuck OFF	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the overdrive clutch regulator valve. If the bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body .
	Overdrive (4, 5, 6) clutch latch valve is stuck OFF	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the overdrive clutch latch valve. If the bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body .
	SF, PC5, PC5Z, NDX, C456 hydraulic circuits blocked/leaking	DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the main control valve body and separator plate passages for debris/blockage. CLEAN as necessary. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body .
	Input shaft, input shaft Teflon™ seals or overdrive clutch piston seal leakage	DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the input shaft Teflon seals. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER to: Transmission .
	Overdrive clutch friction plates	DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the friction and steel plates. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER to: Transmission .
Overdrive clutch always applied	SSE is mechanically stuck OFF	INSTALL a new solenoid. REFER to: Shift Solenoids (SS) . CARRY OUT the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
	Overdrive (4, 5, 6) clutch regulator valve is stuck ON	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the overdrive clutch regulator valve. If the bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body .
	Overdrive (4, 5, 6) clutch latch valve is stuck ON	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the overdrive clutch latch valve. If the bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body .
	Main control valve body cross leaking into PC5, PC5Z and/or C456 hydraulic circuits	DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the main control valve body and separator plate passages for cracks, warping, and damage. If damage is found, INSTALL a new main control valve body. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body .
	Overdrive clutch piston return spring	DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the overdrive clutch piston return spring for damage. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER to: Transmission .
	Overdrive clutch friction plates	DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the friction and steel plates. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER to: Transmission .
Overdrive clutch delayed/soft/slipping apply	Incorrect transmission strategy programmed into PCM/ TCM.	CARRY OUT the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
	Low line pressure	CARRY OUT the line pressure test. REFER to: Special Testing Procedures .
