- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM monitors the TCC and sets a DTC if it falls outside of expected performance ranges.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P1744:00 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC illuminates the wrench light in conjunction with P0741 and/or P2758. Resolve the more specific DTC first. Possible Sources
- TCC control valve stuck off or on
- Seal faults causing loss of pressure
- TCC mechanical failure
- U1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC from the PCM.
- Access the PCM and monitor parameter identifications (PIDs) TCC, TC_SLIPDSD and TC_SLIPACT.
- Road test the vehicle, making sure TCC operation is attempted. REFER to: Road Testing Vehicle .
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the KOEO and KOER PCM self-tests.
Did DTC P1744 return?
Yes If diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0741 and/or P2758 are also present, RESOLVE those first. REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart If no other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present, REFER to: Diagnosis By Symptom . No The fault is not currently present and may be intermittent.
