Differential Carrier: Removal

All vehicles
- Remove the differential housing cover. Refer to: Differential Housing Cover .
- Remove the axle shafts. Refer to: Axle Shaft .

NOTE: The differential bearing caps and differential bearing cap bolts need to be installed in the same location as removed.
Remove the differential bearing cap bolts and differential bearing caps.
Vehicle equipped with ELD (Electronic Locking Differential)
- Remove the ELD adaptor bolt and pull the ELD connector adaptor out of the axle assembly housing.
- Disconnect the ELD coil electrical connector and remove the ELD connector adapter.
All vehicles
- Using a pry bar and the general equipment, remove the differential carrier, differential carrier bearing cups and the differential shims.. Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block
