Axle Shaft: Removal

NOTE:
When removing axle shafts and the vehicle is on the ground surface the tires need to be chocked or the parking brake needs to be set.
NOTE:
The wheels and tires do not have to be removed in order to remove the axle shafts.

NOTE: Torque the axle shaft bolts in a cross pattern.
Remove and discard the axle shaft bolts.
Torque: Stage 1: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm) | Stage 2: 90 deg.
- Remove the axle shaft.
- Remove and inspect the O-ring for damage. Replace if necessary.
- Clean and inspect the axle shaft. Replace if necessary.
- Clean and inspect the hub-to-axle shaft mating surface.
