Power Steering Pump - 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel: Removal

While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or failure of the power steering components may result.
NOTE:
New O-ring seals must be installed on the pressure and return line/hose fittings or a fluid leak may occur.

- Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt .

- Clean the area around the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
- Remove the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
- Using a suction gun remove the power steering fluid.
- Remove the LH fender splash shield to access the steering gear. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
- Remove the power steering fluid pressure line clamp bolt.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the power steering fluid pressure line clamp plate-to-power steering pump bolt and position aside the power steering fluid pressure line.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
- Remove and discard the power steering fluid supply hose clamp and position aside the power steering fluid supply hose.
- Remove and discard the power steering pump bolts and remove the power steering pump.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
