Power Steering Pump - 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel: Removal

NOTE: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or failure of the power steering components may result.
NOTE: New O-ring seals must be installed on the pressure and return line/hose fittings or a fluid leak may occur.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt .
    1. Clean the area around the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
    2. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir cap.

  2. Using a suction gun remove the power steering fluid.

  3. Remove the LH fender splash shield to access the steering gear. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  4. Remove the power steering fluid pressure line clamp bolt.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  5. Remove the power steering fluid pressure line clamp plate-to-power steering pump bolt and position aside the power steering fluid pressure line.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  6. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

  7. Remove and discard the power steering fluid supply hose clamp and position aside the power steering fluid supply hose.

  8. Remove and discard the power steering pump bolts and remove the power steering pump.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
