Power Steering Fluid Cooler - 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel: Removal

NOTE: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may result.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
  2. On both sides. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .
    1. All Vehicles. Disconnect the horn electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.
    2. Vehicles Equipped With Hood Ajar Switch. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    3. Vehicles Not Equipped With Hood Ajar Switch. Detach the wiring harness retainer.
    4. Vehicles With Park Aid Camera. Detach the wiring harness retainers.

  3. Remove the bolts, push-pins and the radiator grille bracket.

    Torque: 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) 2: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  4. NOTE: Make sure the area is clean and free of foreign material before disconnecting the power steering hoses.
    NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.

    Release the clamps and disconnect the hoses. Discard the clamps.

    1. Detach the coolant tube.
    2. Remove the bolts and the power steering fluid cooler.

      Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
