Tailgate Moulding: Removal

All vehicles

Remove the screws from the tailgate liner.
Torque: 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)

Vehicles without Flexible Step
Remove the push pin retainers.

Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the retainers from the tailgate and remove the moulding.

NOTE: Replace the tailgate handle if the tailgate moulding is replaced.

Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the retainers from the tailgate and remove the moulding.

Vehicles with Tailgate Applique
Remove the 2 retainer nuts and washers.
Torque: 36 lb.in (4.1 Nm)

NOTE: Use care when disengaging push pins from tailgate to avoid damage to the applique.

Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the push pin retainers from the tailgate and remove the applique.
