Hood Latch Release Cable: Removal

6.7L Power Stroke Diesel 

  1. If equipped. Remove LH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .

    All vehicles 

  2. Remove the hood latch. Refer to: Hood Latch .
  3. NOTE: Diesel engine shown, Gas engines similar.

    Remove the radiator sight shield.

    1. Remove the pin type retainer and position the air cleaner inlet duct aside.
    2. Remove the pin type retainers and remove the radiator sight shield.

  4. Remove the hood latch release handle. Refer to: Hood Latch Release Handle .
  5. Route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.

    1. Release the cable routing clip.
    2. Route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.

    Route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.

    1. Route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.
    2. Release the cable routing clip.

    Route the hood latch release cable through the radiator support.

    1. Release the cable routing clip.
    2. Route the hood latch release cable through the radiator support.

    Remove the hood latch release cable.

    1. Release the cable routing clips.
    2. Remove the hood latch release cable.
