Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6R100

Adjustment 

  1. With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Position the selector lever in D.

  3. Clean the cable adjuster lock.

  4. Open the adjuster lock.

  5. NOTE: To prevent selector lever cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable between the manual control lever and the selector lever cable bracket.

    Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission manual lever.

  6. Position the manual lever in D.

    1. Rotate the manual lever clockwise until it stops.
    2. Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise 3 detents.

  7. Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.

  8. Close the adjuster lock.

  9. Verify the vehicle starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
