Differential Fluid Level Check

Materials 

Name Specification
Motorcraft ® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant XY-75W140-QL WSL-M2C192-A

Check 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. If draining is needed.

    • Clean the differential fluid drain plug.

    • Remove the differential fluid drain plug.

      Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)

    • Clean the differential fluid fill plug.

    • Remove the differential fluid fill plug.

  3. Check and top off the differential with clean differential gear lubricant. The differential gear lubricant level should be level with the fluid level fill plug opening. Refer to: Specifications .

    Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant / XY-75W140-QL (WSL-M2C192-A)

  4. Install the differential fluid fill plug.

    Torque: 25 lb.ft (34 Nm)
