Rear Seat Latch: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to: Rear Seat LH - Super Cab . Refer to: Rear Seat RH - Super Cab . Refer to: Rear Seat LH - Crew Cab . Refer to: Rear Seat RH - Crew Cab .
  2. NOTE: Cushion cover and foam removed for clarity.

    Remove the seat latch handle.

    1. Remove the cushion latch handle bezel from the cushion.
    2. Remove the fasteners located behind the cushion latch handle. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  3. Open the outboard side of the cushion cover.

    1. Release the cushion lower J-clip.
    2. Release the hook-and-loop strip.
    3. Unzip and open the outboard side of the cushion cover.

  4. NOTE: Cushion cover and foam removed for clarity.

    Remove the latch assembly.

    1. Rotate the latch cable end to align with the slot in the lever and pull the cable end through the slot.
    2. Press in on the cable retainer to release it from the cushion frame.
    3. Remove the latch from the cushion frame.

  5. Remove the lower anchor bolt cover.

  6. Remove the anchor bolt and separate the upper seatbelt from the lower seatbelt.

    Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

  7. Remove the lower seatbelt retractor cover and the upper side shield.

    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the cover while feeding the seatbelt through the opening.
    3. Remove the screw and the upper side shield.

    Vehicles without inflatable seatbelts 

  8. Remove the outboard side shield screw and remove the side shield.

  9. Remove the bolt and position the seatbelt aside.

    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    All vehicles 

  10. Remove the bolts and the outboard riser.

    Torque: 24 lb.ft (32 Nm)

  11. Remove the bolt and the cushion latch assembly.

    Torque: 24 lb.ft (32 Nm)
