Transfer Case Rear Seal: Installation

Vehicles equipped with a flange style driveshaft
- If equipped with a flange style seal using the special tool, install the rear output shaft seal. Use Special Service Tool: 205-1018 Installation Tube., 308-945 Installer, Fixed Yoke Output Seal.
- Install the output flange.
- Install the output flange nut washer.
- Install the new output shaft flange nut.
Torque: 185 lb.ft (251 Nm)
- If equipped with a 4 bolt style flange, connect the driveshaft.
- Align the index marks and connect the driveshaft to the output shaft flange.
- Install the new driveshaft to output flange bolts.
Torque: 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)
- If equipped with U-joint strap style flange, connect the driveshaft.
- Align the index marks and connect the driveshaft to the output shaft flange.
- Install the new driveshaft to output flange bolts.
Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)
Vehicles equipped with a slip yoke style driveshaft
- Using the special tool, install the rear output shaft seal. Use Special Service Tool: 205-1018 Installation Tube., 308-942 Installer, Slip Yoke Seal.
- Install the driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .
